Welcoming graduates back to the U of S Honoured Years Reunion
Each year, the University recognizes honoured classes on the anniversaries of their graduation. Returning graduates come to Thorvaldson for a tour of the areas that were formerly the College of Home Economics and hear news about the programs that developed from the College – the Home Economics Teaching area in the College of Education and the Nutrition undergraduate and graduate programs. Former Home Economics faculty and staff are often been on hand to meet with the graduates. Please visit the reunion website for information on university wide activities such as registration & social, the Chancellor’s banquet, the President’s luncheon, campus tours, and class photos.

Honoured Years Reunion and PAA Ribbon Cutting June 18, 2010
The Practicial and Applied Arts Facility in the College of Education was officially opened on June 18, 2010 as part of the Honoured Years Reunion. Many Home Economics alumni attended the breakfast and ribbon cutting, and enjoyed a tour of Thorvaldson Building afterward. The Home Economics display was changed for 2010 to "Home Economists as Artists." Thank you to the Home Economics Alumni Advisory Committee for collecting the pieces and creating the beautiful display, and a special thank you to the Home Economics alumni that donated to the display.

Special Projects and Class Reunions
An example includes preparation of a section on the history of the College of Home Economics for the publication “Courage to Start New Ventures: the Life and Times of 19 Girls from a Class of 1946,” produced by Bob Phillips, the brother-in-law of 1946 graduates Mrs. Betty (Bell) Ball.
