Thorvaldson Open House

Plaques have been placed with the majority of the Home Economics memorabilia. Please click on the following link to obtain a U of S map with the memorabilia and locations lists: U of S Map - Home Economics Memorabilia.

  1. Home Economics Display – located in the main lobby of the Thorvaldson Building.
  2. College of Home Economics Archives – located at University Archives, Main Library; www.usask.ca/archives, e-mail or phone 306-966-6027.
  3. Guilford Library of Historic Costume – located in the Main Library, 6th Floor G.  There are 237 items in the collection.  Use word search “ Guilford” and “Costume” to access the collection on the U-SEARCH library computer system.
  4. Guilford Historic Costumes Collection and Guilford Doll Collection of Historic Costume – located in the Drama Department, John Mitchell Building.  Costumes are displayed on a rotating basis in special cabinets that have been prepared.  The Doll Collection is displayed in cases on the main floor, lobby and second floors of the building.
  5. Limoges China, Chantilly silver, green glassware, Angus McKay dishes and gifts of art from Home Economics graduating classes at the University President’s Residence.
  6. Ainsley Silver and China at Marquis Hall.
  7. Student files, Helen Abel batik and gifts of art from Home Economics graduating classes in the Thorvaldson Building.
